Sadie Beck — Co-Founder, Bilingual Bookshelf

Sadie Beck is a passionate advocate for educational equity and language accessibility. As co-founder of Bilingual Bookshelf, she launched the nonprofit with a mission to provide free, bilingual literacy resources for children learning English as a second language. The idea for the platform was born out of Sadie’s experience tutoring ESL students, where she recognized the need for engaging, accessible tools to support bilingual learners.
Driven by that vision, Sadie has overseen every aspect of the organization, from securing 501(c)(3) status and leading app and web development to organizing donation drives for used iPads and iPhones and recruiting volunteers to record stories read aloud in English and Spanish. She has also spearheaded outreach efforts to national hospitals extending the reach of the app beyond Texas and bringing educational resources to families in underserved communities across the country.
A student at Greenhill School in Dallas, Sadie combines her academic excellence with hands-on leadership in a wide range of service and advocacy roles. She has served as Secretary and Teen Board Member for the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum, interned with StandWithUs to combat antisemitism through education and advocacy, and volunteered at the Wesley Rankin Community Center, helping students with learning disabilities improve their reading and writing skills. She also interned in the Appointments Division of the Office of the Texas Governor, an experience that gave her insight into state-level leadership and public service.
These experiences have sharpened her communication, leadership, and public speaking abilities, while reinforcing her commitment to inclusive, impactful service.
Sadie’s time studying abroad in Spain and Switzerland helped strengthen her Spanish fluency and broaden her global perspective—both essential to her work with Bilingual Bookshelf. She brings empathy, creativity, and a strong sense of purpose to everything she does—values at the heart of the organization’s mission.
